SQUID FEST 2025 Recap

In the spring of 2025 we hosted our first annual Squid Fest: a film competition open to the public. Our hope was to inspire others to capture epic moments on the mountain. The top 7 films were shown at Squid Fest and it went to a public vote to decide the grand prize winner of $3,000 CASH!!! We also had different award categories like best crash, best trick and best follow cam. Our list of prizes was STACKED, we gave out tons of skis, outerwear, backpacks, goggles, and even 3 GoPro packages.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SAM ARMANINO

Sam was the Squid of Squid & Friends. He was an insanely talented videographer with a vision to showcase his friends. Nobody could match his follow cam skills, or his ability to stoke up our crew. While Squid & Friends will never be the same without Sam, we are doing our best to carry on his legacy, to highlight athletes and inspire the up and comers.

About the Squids

We are a collection of misfits and artists, but mostly skiers. We ski big lines in South Lake Tahoe, and around the world. We believe in ski bumming, but we also believe in lifting up the community around us. We hope you'll follow along for film premiers, events and merch drops!
